There was a sense of urgency, suddency. The sky was on fire and I had to capture the roar of the ever present flames. Fire rose then fell over a Tokyo horizon. I knew it would die soon and found myself trying to get closer. Feeling alive and warm under the fresh eastern red buds. I prepared myself for the final flames...

Monday's are so ordinary. Meet at sunrise by the docks and set sail. Usual. Boring.

Today, I dared to be different. Today I would live free.

No more usual life for me, I was going to live extraordinarily. I was going to see the abandoned lighthouse that had become overgrown with ivy, shrubs, and tall wheat grass not to mention broken steps leading to the top but, I made it. And it was all worth it. I dared to be different and found an area no one knew existed. A seal beach far off to east...breathtaking.

Tightrope Walking the Clouds

The first time it happened I swear I was tightrope walking across the clouds. Moving so smoothly along the rail all I could do was smile at the sunshine as it kissed my face. I was young, I was dreaming, it couldn't be real, right? The airplane had been so much different than this. This was making my heart race ahead of me yet stay just close enough that I was comfortable. An excited shaking began throughout my body as the slight twists and turns broadened my horizon. I swear there would be no better time in my life, than this. I could die in the clouds..

Stop the Sirens

A city full of people, places, shops, and cabs. The hustle and bustle of every day life. Have you ever stopped and just breathed in the fresh air? Everything is moving so fast. Why don't we allow ourselves to slow down? Just listen to the wind. Hear the Bedouin's song in the wake of the early morning hours. Escape from your city of thoughts and ideas, skyscrapers of plans and stadiums filled with worries. Climb the fire escape ladder to the top of the tallest building you can find and look out over it all. Or, if your more confident in yourself grab a lawn chair and sit in the middle of all the commotion and noise. Let everything holding you back, bringing you down, and getting to you just pass.

Wireless Wednesdays

Migraines rattle my brain about every day. I never have been to keen on advancement in technology in most areas anyway so with that being said I am taking a wireless Wednesday every week. That means I am avoiding technology of any sort and doing more productive things with my time. (writing, reading, singing, and dancing to name a few) =)

I would essentially like to live my life like the Amish do...I'm dead serious. I think it would be great to live life not letting materialism consume you or be in the forefront of everyday thinking. I would also like to experience the lifestyle of being homeless so I can better understand and help those less fortunate around me.

Every little thing I can possibly do to help make this world a better place I will do.

I wasn't sure what to title this because this was an assignment for my stress management class last semester. She wanted us to write about a dream or something that would make us very calm and relaxed if we heard it. She told me this was really beautiful and hearing that feedback just made my day. I knew immediatly what i wanted to write about. This has been my fantasy or dream for the longest time..

You can hear your footsteps along the marble tiles. You can't see anything around you except the stars in the sky and the crescent moon shinning bright. You are under a covering of some sort though because you can't see any light above you. You can hear the crash of waves in the distance and you begin to walk ahead comfortably. Without realizing it multi-colored lights come on one by one over you. You slowly begin to see that your in a ballroom and walk up to the baby grand and tell the tale of the stars. Closing your eyes and running your fingers across the ivory sky you hear something and feel a slight wind. SHE walks in wearing that big yellow dress..you smell the sweet aroma in the air as you stand and slowly meet her gaze.

What are you going to do with your life? Any plans for summer? I can't wait for this, I can't wait for that. It's amazing that everything anyone ever talks about is what COULD happen. What MIGHT happen. It was that way with me for a while as well..in middle school i was excited to get out and on to high school. In high school same old story with college waiting in the wings. Now i want to change the way i look at everything. This is what i want to do. If your going to say something in the future or something that is not happening right now say twice as many things that you are thankful for or have enjoyed doing TODAY.
